ARROWSHAFT WOOD
Offered here are a variety of different woods that can be used for arrowshafts. The wood pieces are fairly straight but may need to have some straightening work done. These wood pieces may also be used for other traditional tools needing a straight shaft like drills or perforators. Pieces are approximately three to four feet long.

WOOD PIECES
These are shorter relatively straight sticks of wood from a variety of plants. They can be used for wands or knife handles. These sticks average one to two feet long and an inch to two inches in diameter. Thorns have been removed from the Rose Wood.

ELDERBERRY WOOD Sambucus mexicana
Elderberry wood (Sambucus mexicana) is a soft wood that has a very broad central pith which can be used to make flutes, blow guns, or clapper sticks. These sticks are air dried and relatively straight, averaging two feet long and between 1/2" to 1 1/2" in diameter.
Caution: The green wood contains a cyanide compound which dissipates as it dries.
