4/28/06 - I am personally pleased to announce the launching of another aspect of Phoenix Obsidian Designs.   The Primitive Institute of Technology will this summer be offering its first classes including several Flintknapping classes and an Ethnobotanical Techniques class.   These classes will be offered at our Grass Valley, California location.   Depending upon the response, we are planning on expanding the number and variety of classes over the next few years.   This development shows that our educational services are continuing to expand even though the subscription section of this website is yet to be launched (still working out the kinks).

3/11/06 - Things are yet again delayed on the launching of the subscription section.   Most of the delay is simply because I am still not satisfied with the content and services I want and am able to offer.   I am currently working on a pamphlet called "First Aid for Flintknappers" which will be offered along with our Flintknapping First Aid Kit.   The text of this pamphlet along with the text that accompanies most of the educational items that we offer will eventually be posted on the subscription section of this website.   The recent increase in orders and the number of shows is slowing down progress slightly on this front.   Keep up the encouraging words and the site may yet be launched soon, probably with a short free introductory period for testing to those who have signed up for notification.

1/07/06 - Last year saw substantial growth in business and product development for Phoenix Obsidian Designs, even with several health problems which cropped up.   This year should show more rapid progress with the launching of the subscription service in the next few weeks.   Soon a blog will be in place here so that news and information can be transmitted easier.

Another service which is currently available is our an Affiliate program.   This program is geared as a type of fundraising activity for flintknapping or archaeology clubs, universities, museums or other such groups.   Phoenix Obsidian Designs will set up a special page on this website upon which the group can post specially designed flintknapping or study kits or other specially recommended sale items.   For every sale that comes through this page, your group will receive a credit towards future purchases at Phoenix Obsidian Designs for 10% of that sales value.   Total Sales Credit will be reported quarterly.   To set up an affiliate account for your group, e-mail us at  Affiliate@ObsidianDesigns.com.

This year will continue to show the substantial increase in the appearances of Phoenix Obsidian Designs at conventions, fairs, and classrooms.   See our  Current Schedule  below.   We would love to do a demonstration this year for your group.   The price for a basic 45 min. demonstration is $50, but this is very negotiable.   If you schedule events for a group anywhere in California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, or Arizona - simply  E-mail us  and we will make every attempt to arrange a demonstration for you.
