SMUDGING BUNDLES
Smudging involves a bundle of a particular herb that is lit so that it smolders and does not flame. The smoke is then wafted around the room or a person in order to "purify" them. Such smoke is good for getting rid of bad smells and bad insects or even bad vibes. Smudging is a crucial element in most traditional ceremonies. The particular herb selected to be used is dependent on the properties of the herb as well as its availablity. Sagebrush was the herb most widely used due to its ubiquitous nature. White Sage, or true sage, is the gentler cousin but was only found in Southern California. Often times a sweeter smelling herb like Sweet Grass was used following the more cleansing pungent Sage or Cedar. Only a few bundle types are offered currently.

| ABALONE SHELLS
These shells can be used to hold smudging materials for cleansing ceremonies. It is a low open spiral shell with several respiratory holes in a row near the edge. The innermost layer of the shell is composed of nacre or mother-of-pearl. Consequently these shells are very iridescent with a large range of strong and changeable colors.
